Woo! Our project Log This Place, which we developed together with the City of Malmö, has just won their internal Digitization Award for 2022! The Log This Place app makes it possible for citizens with disabilities to explore, discover and log accessibility for public places in Malmö.
The City of Malmo’s digitalization prize is awarded to the contribution that “excelled with excellence and creates new values, by switching from an analog approach to a digital one.”
This year, the award went to the “Log This Place” app, a user-generated app that outlines the accessibility of different venues and places in the public sphere. The project is a collaboration between the Functional Support Administration of the City of Malmö, Malmö Civic Lab, and Handiscover.
The motivation reads: “This initiative stands out in several ways! Based on the involvement of citizens and that they share valuable information. Thereafter, the information can be used by several actors in society – a cyclical use of information where several parties help each other. This creates incredible benefits for a large group of our citizens who have more equal access to our society. Simply increased accessibility created by the citizens packaged in a stylish app!”
